'Steaks' high as country's best cattle farmers battle it out
Australia's best beef brand has been named after a tough battle between the country's finest cattle farmers.
The Darling Downs Beef Battle went down overnight where the family-owned Stockyard Beef took out the top prize.
Founded in 1958 by Del and Robin Hart, the Jondaryan farm, in Queensland's Toowoomba region, manages over 2000 heads of cattle on any given day.

The Hart's granddaughter Ali manages the farm today and accepted the award on their behalf.
"It takes a lot to produce Australia's best beef, it is Australia's best genetics that go into producing the very best beef," Ali told Today.
"We feed only the very best ingredients to our animals, it is non-GMO, no antibiotics and no added hormones so truly only the best of the best go into it."
Chef Jason Fullilove judged the winner and told Today it was a very close competition.
"They're all really good but it comes down to juiciness, tenderness, the flavour of the steak, how well it looks on the plate and overall liking," he said.
"These are the five different categories we broke it down to and these guys did an amazing job."
The judges also toured the candidates' feedlots and got an inside look at how well the cattle are treated from start to finish.
"What they feed the cows is delicious too," Jason said.
"You can pick it up and eat it, oats and barley, which is crazy to see that coming from America - It has been a fantastic experience and these guys are well deserved."
