"The number one city is Adelaide, followed by Brisbane and then Perth," Effie Zahos revealed.

"People have been going into these areas because the prices are quite affordable."

Among the suburbs in number-one city, Adelaide, were Christies Beach, Craigmore and Salisbury East, all which had a median price below $490,000 according to latest figures.

In other parts of the country, Annerley in Brisbane had a median price of $460,000, while Wellard in Perth was around $415,000.
