Ally makes her return to the Today couch

Viewers had to do a double take this morning when two of Karl's Today co-hosts appeared on the show this morning instead of him.

Sarah Abo has been doing a stellar job on the show this year, taking over from Karl's former co-host - A Current Affair's Allison Langdon.

So when viewers returned from an ad break to both Ally and Sarah sitting alongside each other to introduce the next segment, it looked like more surprise staff changes may have been on the cards.

But Ally was, in fact, on the show to discuss the new season of Parental Guidance, and Karl was hiding just off camera, ready to serve more of his cheeky banter Ally has not missed at all!

"The host with the most, the mother of the nation, Ally Langdon is back on the set - a big round of applause for Ally," Karl said.

"How was it getting up this morning, was it tough?"

Ally assured Karl she was happy to set the early alarm this one time and said there were even more parenting styles being analysed on this season of Parental Guidance.

"So raising kids can definitely be a challenge," she said.

"How would you know?" Karl clapped back before Sarah told him to "shut-up".

Season two of the show kicks off tonight after A Current Affair at 7:30 on Nine and 9Now.
