Two young Melburnians have been treated to a golfing masterclass by legendary player, Tiger Woods.

When Hugo, 10, and Jemima, 11,  arrived at Royal Melbourne Golf Club this morning, they assumed they were taking part in a promotional video for the Presidents Cup 2019.

Little did they know, they were about to come face-to-face with one of the most famous athletes on the planet.

More than just a meet and greet, the young pair were given the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play with Woods, a 14-time Major winner.

Far from intimidated, Hugo and Jemima impressed Woods with their skills, who said he liked what he saw.

“It’s good to see them just enjoying the game…  great day weather-wise… and have a little fun,” he told 9News.

The admiration was mutual, with Jemima calling Woods, “The best golfer”.

The 42-year-old is in Melbourne to promote the Presidents Cup. Having rebuilt his image and body, the world number-17 is once again hunting trophies.

Next December, he'll captain the Americans as they look to continue their domination of the Presidents Cup.

“This is my first opportunity as captain. I’ve been vice-captain the last couple of years, but this will be quite a momentous occasion to be able to play here at the Royal Melbourne in front of these crazy fans.”
