Three-year-old girl in serious condition after falling into South Hurstville backyard pool

A three-year-old girl is in a serious condition in hospital after she was pulled unconscious from a backyard pool in Sydney’s south.

Emergency services were called to the home in Culwulla Street in South Hurstville just after 5pm yesterday after the child was found in pool.

Police said she was understood to have been playing with her siblings shortly before she was found.

She was treated at the scene, before being rushed to Sydney Children’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Police said inquiries into the incident are underway.
