Three people killed in fiery five-vehicle crash in Queensland
Three people are confirmed dead today following a catastrophic crash in Queensland.
A disaster victimisation unit, usually called to investigate aeroplane crashes has been called into investigate a five-vehicle crash about 255km north of Brisbane around 10pm yesterday.
Police said today that in the chaos, a truck carrying lithium-batteries collided head-on with another truck, causing two of the vehicles to erupt into flames.

Around 9.50pm yesterday, investigators say a driver in an SUV failed to give way when turning right onto the Bruce Highway.
That driver's car collided with a semi-trailer, which then hit another truck head-on from the oncoming lane of traffic.
Lithium batteries inside the second truck caused a fireball to erupt.
The three men in the those vehicles died at the scene.

The second truck collided with a ute, and a caravan trailer moments later, with three other people receiving minor injuries.
Tests are now taking place to determine whether drugs or alcohol played a part in the crash.
The investigation is likely to last weeks.
