Three guilty in love triangle death of beloved lawyer

It was October 2011 when Katie Foreman was ripped from her family, killed in this fire at her Corrimal home.

The Wollongong lawyer woke after the petrol was ignited, but only made it to her bedroom door.

Katie was a valued member of the legal profession, and a friend to many.

The court heard Bradley Rawlinson was the driving force behind the murder, he was in a relationship with Ms Foreman.

But he was also sleeping with Wendy Evans, declaring his love to her in text messages. One of them read "just think one more week, then she is gone and we can be together."

Under her lover's influence Evans plotted the murder and recruited Michelle Proud to help.

For that, Rawlinson was sentenced to a minimum 27 years jail, Evans to 18, and Proud to 14.

Neil and Anne Foreman were quiet as the sentences were handed down one by one. They've never said more than a few words publicly about their daughter, but in court described her as beautiful and kind, their pride and joy.

In handing down the sentences Justice Harrison told the court he was "deeply puzzled" about why Ms Foreman was killed and said "scurrilous gossip and meaningless banter can never justify the taking of any person's life."
