Thugs ram raid family bike shop in Melbourne
A family business in Melbourne's west has been left holding a hefty damage bill after three men smashed a black van through the front door to steal five bikes.
The owners of Salter Cycles in Altona Meadows spent much of today cleaning up the mess with the thugs responsible still on the run.
Minutes before midnight, the smash-and-grab was so destructive glass and steel were sent flying.

Three men inside a black van reversed into Salter Cycles and stole several expensive bikes.
The brazen thugs rushed to grab what they could as the store alarm woke nearby residents who raised the alarm.
The store owners are still counting the total damage bill, but say about $20,000 in stock alone was stolen.
