Revealed: The Queensland suburbs where it’s cheaper to buy than rent

Renters across Queensland have been given some good news to start the new year, with 9NEWS revealing a number of suburbs across the state where it is cheaper to buy property than rent.

In Logan Central, residents with an average home loan are able to pay $270 a week to own their own property.

In the south-east, experts said it is cheaper to buy than rent in 25 suburbs including Worongary and Coombabah on the Gold Coast.

Real estate agents said interest rates are contributing to the low prices.

“Interest rates are pretty much the best they’ve ever been in a long time and in the foreseeable future they can only go up,” LJ Hooker real estate agent Tony Hall told 9NEWS.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity especially if you want a well-established house.”
