The one joke Stefanovic isn't into

TODAY host Karl Stefanovic is always keen for a laugh but there is one thing he didn’t find particularly funny this morning.

Stefanovic and co-host Alicia Loxley were discussing technical issues that had threatened to plague the broadcast when production staff jokingly threw to a colour bar test screen, along with its annoying high-pitch tone.

“Mate, don’t do that seriously, don’t do that,” Stefanovic immediately instructed.

“People have turned off now,” the popular host said when the colour bars were finally dropped after eight seconds of airtime.

“People love tone first thing in the morning,” Stefanovic added, poking his finger in his ear with a grimace.
