‘Horrific’ torture of boy, 7, in home invasion
A seven-year-old boy was subjected to "horrific" torture in a brutal home invasion in the US.
Four suspects are sought over the attack in Texas, which saw masked suspects enter a home in Fort Bends.
They filled a tub in a home with hot water and repeatedly dunked the boy into it while demanding to know where money in the house was hidden, authorities told ABC US.
Police refused to release the "horrific" audio of the incident, which was captured by home CCTV.
"Just horrible to think that we have three individuals out there that are trying to make a little extra money, and they’re gonna do that to a young man like that? A child? How dare you," Fort Bend County Sherriff Troy Nehls said.
In images of the suspects released by police, one can be seen grabbing on to the boy.
The suspects absconded with jewellery, cash, mobile phones and car keys.
The boy was taken to hospital to be treated for water in his lungs, but has since been released.
Authorities believe the father may have been targeted because he owned a business.
"Three crooks forcing their way into a home in the middle of the night is appalling," Sherriff Nehls said in a statement.
"To make matters worse, they accosted a 7-year-old child."
A US$25,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest of the suspects.
