Teenage boy stabbed with scissors on Sydney train

A 14-year-old boy has been stabbed with a pair of scissors on a train in Sydney’s west overnight.

Police are searching for a man, believed to be aged in his 60s, wanted over the attack.

The boy was stabbed around midnight on a train at Doonside Railway Station.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics, before being taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

Witnesses said the offender fled the scene.

The man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, aged in his 60s, with grey receding hair and a grey short beard.

He was wearing a dark jacket, long shorts, a white collared shirt and dark boots.
