Teenage boy dies after moped crash in Sydney's west

A 13-year-old boy has died after a moped accident in Sydney’s west this morning.

The young teenager was found dead on the road at Tyrone Place in Erskine Park at around 3.10am.

It’s believed he suffered fatal head injuries after he collided with the rear of a parked semi-trailer.

Authorities said he was with two other boys at the time of the crash.

One fled the scene, while the another stayed and is assisting police.

An investigation into the cause of the deadly incident is underway.
