Teen charged over security guard stabbing in Moss Vale south of Sydney

Police have charged a teenager after a security guard was allegedly stabbed at Moss Vale on Tuesday night.

The 72-year-old security guard approached a car allegedly doing burnouts on an oval on Donkin Avenue around 9pm and spoke to three people inside the car.

He then attempted to take the keys out of the ignition.

A man then got out of the car and challenged the guard, allegedly stabbing him in the hand and back.

He returned to the car and all three people drove away.

The guard was taken to Liverpool Hospital by paramedics.

A 16-year-old boy was last night arrested at Bowral Police Station.

He was charged with reckless wounding in company, and stealing a motor vehicle.

He has been refused bail and will appear at a children's court today.

Investigations to identify the other people involved continue.
