An area of Hobart which is a hotspot for workplace complaints will be targeted in a crackdown by the federal Fair Work Ombudsman.
Over the next two months inspectors will randomly check businesses in and around the suburbs of Sorell, Richmond, Lewisham and Dodges Ferry - all areas which Fair Work Ombudsman Natalie James said generate persistent requests for help from workers.
"It's important we check that workers are being paid correctly, but we also want to be proactive about ensuring employers understand their obligations," Ms James said in a statement.
