Water search for missing Tas man

The police search for a Tasmanian man missing for more than seven weeks will return to waterways nearby where he was last seen.

Ben Plowright, 20, was last seen about 9.30pm on May 30 after he left a party at Perth, south of Launceston in Tasmania, despite extensive air, land and river searches.

"The next steps in the investigation will be a further search of the river in the Perth area using kayaks and a low-flying helicopter," police said in a statement on Wednesday.
