Tas trio face court for attempted murder

Three people have faced a Launceston court after a brutal assault that left a Tasmanian man in intensive care and needing facial reconstructive surgery.

A 48-year-old Prospect man remains in a serious condition at Launceston General Hospital after he was found with serious head injuries in Launceston in the early hours of Wednesday.

A 23-year-old man, an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl have been charged with aggravated robbery and attempted murder.

The trio appeared at the Launceston Court of Petty Sessions on Saturday.

They were remanded in custody to appear at the Launceston Magistrates Court on Monday.

The man, who is due to undergo surgery on Sunday, is currently sedated.
