Teen charged after crash kills girl, baby

A teenager is facing numerous charges including failing to give way after a fatal crash in northern Tasmania which killed a young mother and her two-month-old baby.
The 16-year-old girl and her son were passengers in a Toyota Corolla on June 21 when the 19-year-old male driver - turned onto the Bass Highway near Wynyard, crashing into a Mack truck.
He has been charged with negligent driving, being an unaccompanied learner driver, disobeying a give way sign and driving an unroadworthy vehicle and will face court at a later date, police said on Monday.
