Tassie mum caught drink driving

A Tasmanian woman was allegedly five times over the limit when she was pulled over while driving with a child in her car.

She's been charged with high range drink driving, with police alleging she recorded a blood alcohol level of .221 when she was stopped in Burnie at 12.30pm on Thursday.

"This type of driver behaviour is particularly disappointing in light of the recent fatalities on our roads and given the extreme weather conditions confronting our road users at this time," Acting Sergeant Scott Poke said.
