Tasmanian man charged with baby's murder

A man has been charged with murder after the death of a nine-week-old baby.

The baby girl died in the Royal Hobart Hospital on February 6.

The baby, from Deloraine in northern Tasmania, had suffered serious head injuries, it was reported at the time.

A 27-year-old man from the Launceston suburb of Youngtown has been charged with murder, police said on Monday.

He was due to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court on Monday.
