Tasmanian drunk-driver clocked at 165km/h

A drunk-driver in an unlicensed car has been nabbed speeding at more than twice the limit on a highway in northern Hobart.

Police say the 24-year-old man was caught driving a station wagon 165km/h in an 80km/h zone in the early hours of Monday.

He recorded a blood alcohol level of 0.147.

He was charged with drink-driving, speeding and driving unlicensed and has been summoned to appear in court.
