The Tasmanian government is due to outline its plan for the coming 12 months with Liberal premier Will Hodgman making his State-of-the-State address to parliament.

The lower house is on Wednesday expected to again hear that the island state is experiencing record economic growth, booming tourism and business confidence, and an improving budget bottom line.

But the administration has faced numerous recent challenges including spending millions of dollars fighting summer bushfires and problems sourcing energy due to a damaged Bass Strait cable combined with low water levels in the hydro-electric generator system.

Mr Hodgman is expected to champion his open-for-business mantra which has been his core message since coming to power in 2014 with a promise to revive the state's traditional mining and forestry sectors.
