A Tasmanian politician who claims she was bullied by a state minister at a parliamentary function while the pair discussed local legislation, will consider taking her complaint to police.

Upper house independent MLC Ruth Forrest said on Thursday she drew motivation from Australian of the Year David Morrison's anti-victimisation comments when deciding how to deal with her September interaction with police and infrastructure minister Rene Hidding.

"I am also considering as a result of legal advice whether I will report the matter to Tasmania Police for investigation," The Mercury newspaper reported her saying, adding that she will pursue a code of conduct complaint against Mr Hidding who has apologised if his remarks were deemed intimidating.
