Tas NAPLAN results show improvement

Tasmania's NAPLAN results show an improvement across the majority of areas for the state's primary and secondary students.

About 25,000 students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 across state, Catholic and independent schools undertook the tests in May and Education Minister Jeremy Rockliff has welcomed the results but says there's still room for improvement.

"The results show that Tasmania improved its results at or above national minimum standard from 2014 in 14 of the 20 assessments, including Years 3, 5 and 9 reading and Years 5, 7 and 9 numeracy," Mr Rockliff said.
