Tas man charged over counterfeit cash

A man has been charged with making counterfeit money that was allegedly circulated around Tasmania's northwest coast.

The 27-year-old Burnie man was arrested after police raided a number of homes and vehicles, and allegedly uncovered counterfeit $50 notes and equipment used to make fake cash.

Police on Sunday said the man had been charged with various counterfeit offences. He was bailed to appear in the Burnie Court of Petty Sessions at a later date.
