A Hobart lawyer has pleaded not guilty to perverting justice in the high-profile murder appeal of Susan Neill-Fraser.

Jeffrey Ian Thompson, 57, is accused of deliberately influencing a witness and prejudicing photographic evidence while working on the legal team of Neill-Fraser, who is serving 23 years in jail for the murder of her partner in 2009.

Thompson pleaded not guilty in Hobart Magistrates Court on Wednesday and will face a Supreme Court trial on November 20.
