Tas foursome charged over drugs, gun, cash

Illegal drugs, a gun and cash have been seized and four people charged by police after a raid in northwest Tasmania.

Officers were called to Turners Beach on Thursday to reports of a man brandishing a firearm and on further investigation were led to a property at Devonport where they allegedly found the drug known as ice, more than $3000 in cash and a shortened shotgun with ammunition.

"I'd like to assure the public that this was an isolated incident with all the parties known to each other and there is no ongoing danger to the public," detective senior constable Robert Woodrow said, adding that three men - aged 30, 29 and 20 - and a 22-year-old woman have been charged.
