Tas firearms dealer shut down, guns seized

Police have seized more then 100 guns and expect to lay charges against a firearms dealer in northwest Tasmania, whose business they have shut down.

The Burnie business was raided on Wednesday. Officers also confiscated a large quantity of ammunition.

It is alleged the dealer sold a number of firearms without registering them, as required by law.

He also failed to account for a number of firearms listed on his dealer's licence.
