Tasmania's hydro-electric scheme dam levels have risen a little further to 21.9 per cent, Energy Minister Matthew Groom says.

The level is an increase of 1.9 per cent over the seven days up to Monday and is welcome news amid the island state's recent energy supply crisis where low rainfall has caused dam levels to drop and a Bass Strait electricity cable is broken and inoperable.

"While we have turned the corner, we can't become complacent," Mr Groom said of the rising water storages under which, at their lowest level of 12 per cent in April, diesel-powered backup generators were brought in to meet demand.
