Tas dam levels up for first time in months

For the first time in more than seven months Tasmania's hydro-electric scheme dam levels have risen, the state government says.

Recent rains mean capacity has risen over the past week by 0.2 per cent and on Monday levels stood at 13 per cent, Energy Minister Matthew Groom said in a statement.

"Forecasts suggest it is likely there will be additional rainfalls in catchment areas," the minister said, as Tasmania continues to battle an energy supply crisis amid record low rainfall and a broken Bass Strait electricity cable.
