Tas bushfire burns into third day

A 40-hectare bushfire east of Hobart is still burning, three days after it was ignited.

While the blaze poses no immediate threat to private property, residents in Clarendon Vale and Acton Park are still on alert as it crosses "extremely difficult to access terrain".

"Property owners and residents in the area are to remain vigilant and report any outbreak of fire," the Tasmania Fire Service website says.

Crews are expected to be fighting the fire over coming days.
