Suspect continues evidence at Butterworth inquest

Lance Russell Sage once confessed to burying a dead woman near Hobart in the 1960s, but now he's not so sure.

The 68-year-old is one of four suspects in the 1969 disappearance and suspected murder of young aspiring model Lucille Butterworth.

He will continue giving evidence to coroner Simon Cooper on Tuesday.

Mr Sage has only a vague memory of events from the time.

He's one of 40 witnesses fronting the inquest, which is in the second of its scheduled four weeks.
