Second death in a week at Hobart prison

There has been a second death in custody in the space of one week at Hobart's prison.

Police on Monday confirmed that an inmate at Risdon Prison died in a cell overnight Sunday.

It comes after the June 22 death of Troy Colin Monson, 42, who was found dead in the back of a prison van while being transported from Launceston to Hobart.

There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances linked to either death.
