Second chance for trainee Tas builders

Drop-out Tasmanian building apprentices will get a second chance with a plan to bring them back to training as the state's construction sector takes off.

Almost 200 apprentices didn't complete their studies in 2013/14 because of a lack of work, and they will be contacted over the next week in a move proposed by the state government and backed by industry.

If they agree, their names will be added to a trade register which can be accessed by employers looking for workers.
