Rude vans get the boot from Tassie

Tasmania's parliament has passed a law banning campervans emblazoned with offensive slogans.

The new legislation got its final tick of approval on Wednesday meaning vehicles can be deregistered if they fail to meet advertising standards.

"Some of the offensive slogans on these vans are completely unacceptable and offensive and clearly promote negative attitudes to women," minister Rene Hidding said, promoting the move he hopes will send a strong message to operators.
