New police ready for work in Tassie

Nineteen new constables will be welcomed to the ranks of Tasmania Police on Friday with the first class of 2015 due to graduate in Hobart.

The Liberal state government has promised to increase police numbers by 108 over its current four-year term, which will see the force reach 1233.

Having completed a 29-week training course the graduates will be deployed as general duties officers across the state.
