Murder-accused doctor remains in custody

A NSW doctor charged with the murder of his elderly mother in Hobart will remain in custody after a brief court appearance.
Stephen John Edwards, 61, on Monday was flanked by security guards in the dock of the Hobart Magistrates Court.
"We are seeking an adjournment without a plea on this occasion," lawyer James O'Shannessey said.

Magistrate Glenn Hay listed Edwards' case for May 9 and ordered that the doctor remain in custody.
