Motorcyclist dies after Hobart crash

An 18-year-old motorcylist has died after a collision with a car on Hobart's Brooker Highway.

Police say the young man was carrying a male pillion passenger of the same age when they hit the driver's side of a car turning right onto the highway at about 5.40pm on Sunday.

The motorcyclist died in the Royal Hobart Hospital a short time after being taken there by ambulance with his passenger and the car's 39-year-old driver, whose condition is not regarded as serious.
