Tasmania's attorney-general Vanessa Goodwin is due to undergo more tests to better understand her prognosis after being diagnosed with multiple brain tumours.
The 47-year-old has been in hospital since Friday after receiving the shocking news and she acknowledged on her Facebook page overnight there was a "long road ahead" but that she would keep fighting.
Premier Will Hodgman told reporters he intends to visit Dr Goodwin in hospital later in the day.

"She's receiving further tests today and in due course will understand the extent of her illness and what the best treatments are," he said.
