Man charged after item found at school

A man has been charged with creating a nuisance after a suspicious package was found at a suburban Hobart primary school.

Students were told not to attend Clarendon Vale Primary School on Tuesday after the discovery of the package around 7.40am.

A 36-year-old man found nearby was interviewed by police and was later charged with creating a common nuisance.

Experts examined the package and deemed the area safe.

The man is due to face court late on Tuesday.
