Man injured in Tasmanian cliff fall

A man who suffered head injuries in a cliff fall on Tasmania's Spectacle Island has been winched aboard a rescue helicopter and flown to Hobart Hospital.

Police say they called on the Westpac chopper at about 1.45am on Sunday following the young man's fall at Dodges Ferry.

A flight paramedic and police rescue crew were flown to the scene where the patient was treated before being winched aboard the helicopter and flown to hospital in a stable condition.
