Lost Tas woman unlikely to be found alive

Missing Tasmanian woman Angela Joy Jeffrey is unlikely to be found alive, according to police.

Ms Jeffrey, 54, was last seen at her home in Penguin nine days ago with police finding her car in the state forest near Bakers Beach a week ago.

The operation to find her is now moving from search to recovery in the hope of giving Ms Jeffrey's family answers regarding her disappearance.

"Sadly, despite our considerable efforts we must be realistic that there is little hope of finding Angela alive," Senior Sergeant Debbie Williams said in a statement on Friday.
