L-plate motorcyclist loses licence in Tas

An L-plate motorcyclist has lost his licence after being caught speeding 63 kilometres per hour over the limit in northwest Tasmania.

The 17-year-old was clocked at 143 km/h on the Bass Highway near Wynyard, weaving through traffic.

"This indicates an inexperienced motorist with little regard for responsible road users," Sergeant Steve Keiselis said of the offence.
