Hundreds of firearms confiscated

Police have seized a large number of firearms, including assault and shortened rifles, during a raid on a suburban Hobart property.

More than 250 firearms and firearms parts, along with several hundred kilograms of ammunition were confiscated on Tuesday, with Inspector Kathy Bennett saying several of the items were deemed illegal.

Police expect to lay charges in relation to the incident.
