Divers come across decomposing body near Hobart pier

A decomposing body has been found by two divers near the Elizabeth Street Pier in Hobart.

The pair alerted police after coming across the partially decomposed body while taking part in a night dive with a local club on Tuesday night.

The body, believed to be male, was recovered by police divers, but no other items of interest were found in the area.

Police say further investigations into the person's identity and cause of death will continue on Wednesday.
