Tasmania now boasts the greatest number of women in any Australian lower house of parliament.
The swearing in of new Greens MP Rosalie Woodruff on Wednesday takes the number of women in the island state's House of Assembly to 11, equalling 44 per cent representation, along with 14 men.
"That's the highest level of women in any Australian lower house," Labor MP Lara Giddings told parliament.
