Frost warning for parts of Tasmania

In Tasmania, it's heat and bushfires one week and frost the next.

The Apple Isle has had several days of heat, bushfires and total fire bans so far in October, but the Bureau of Meteorology has issued a frost warning for Thursday morning in the Midlands and Upper Derwent Valley regions.

Temperatures in parts of those regions could dip to minus 1C overnight, the bureau says.
