Fishermen winched to safety in Tas

Three men have been winched to safety after their fishing boat had engine trouble in southeast Tasmania.

Police say the men had been fishing on Saturday when they encountered engine difficulties at Outer North Head on the Tasman Peninsula.

Unable the fix the issue, the men stayed onshore overnight, before contacting emergency services requesting assistance on Sunday morning.

The men were winched to safety by a rescue helicopter and transported to Hobart uninjured.
