Fisherman dies on Tasmanian waters

A fisherman has died from a medical issue off Tasmania's southeast coast

Tasmanian police were told about an unconscious man on a six-metre aluminium vessel about three nautical miles from Tasman Island about 11.45am on Friday after he suffered a medical issue.

Police vessel Dauntless crew members started CPR on the man before the Westpac Rescue Helicopter winched down a rescue crewman and intensive care paramedic, but he died on transit into Port Arthur.
