Boys started Tas house fire: police

Police will take action against two young boys for starting a fire which destroyed an unoccupied house in northern Tasmania.

Emergency crews were called to a property at Smithton on Tuesday afternoon, where they found a house engulfed in fire. It was completely destroyed with a damage bill estimated to be more than $90,000.

Two boys, aged 12 and 13, were interviewed on Wednesday and will be be dealt with under the juvenile justice act.
